Russian AU-30 airship baptism ceremony is in process today
– 12th October – in Marseilles, France. Next
spring the airship, produced by Russian Augur-RosAeroSystems
JSC, will participate international expedition to the North
Pole. Scientific and research expedition following the
tracks of Nobile and Amundsen is dedicated to Polar changes
unveiling and its influence on our planet climate

Russian
airship is leaving for France by airplane |

 |
18 September 2007 Russian built airship AU-30 is leaving for
France, where international Russian-French scientific and
research expedition to the North Pole is to be launched
soon. The expedition will take place in the framework of
International Polar year proclaimed with the aim to provide
Arctic ice package measurements and getting acquainted with
the problem of climate change and the relative influence on
the Earth.

dedicated to Aerostats and Airships Through Russian Lighter-than-air
Aviation Perspectives.
Rapid development and modern technologies were issued.
Russian airship manufacturing Augur-RosAeroSystems JSC took
part in discussion stated, as well as Russian airships
operator AeroSkan Ltd, and surveillance customer
Infrastructure Project Center Ltd.
Press-conference was opened with RosAeroSystems’President
Gennady E. Verba, who reported of modern aeronautics
achievements and their application perspectives.
Ltd Igor Kulikov, general director of AeroScan Ltd, reported
AU-30 equipment application for ground objectives
surveillance and their 3D models creation. The postamble was
dedicated to Berkut stratospheric airship, GALA hybrid
aerostatic vehicle, as well as aerostatic systems adaptation
to the current issues of Sochi-2014 Winter Olympiad.

29 March, during the last
week Aerospace show which was taking place in Kaluga, the
radio-controlled airship was lifted in the air. Delegation
lead by the President of Russia Vladimir V. Putin has visited
the exposition of the Aerospace show and also The K.
Tsiolkovsky Astronautics History museum where, along with the
famous Russian scientist’s rocket and space inventions, his
airships models were presented.

has made way for Yak-42 airplane

test flying by the route from Kirzhach town located within the
borders of Vladimir region to Razvilka village, Moscow region.
Passengers of a passing by Yak-42 airplane could watch in their
windows Au-30 in flight.

Airships and aerostats are on the duty for Russia just at the
moment. Placed earlier on secret list, all of the projects have
been opened and now are military functioning. Development and
exploitation of lighter-than-air aviation for military service
is a very prospective issue.

Russian State Duma, Jean- Louis Etienne – famous traveler of
France, and engineering crew of the Au-30 airship creators:
Gennady Verba – the ROSAEROSYSTEMS company president, and
Mikhail Talesnikov – vice-president of the company. |

“The expedition will repeat the travel route of Umberto Nobile
who challenged to overpass the same way in 1928 but actually did
not come to the end”, - Artur N. Chilingarov explains.. The air
traverse is expected in 2008 and will start from Paris, then
lead to Spitsbergen and to Borneo ice base at the North Pole.
The
Au-30 airship, created by the AVGUR-ROSAEROSYSTEMS company is a
unique carrier for the special arctic ice thickness measurement
equipment.
The joint Russian-French expedition will take place within the
framework of International Polar year initiated by Russian
Federation and then proclaimed by United Nations Organization.
According to Artur Chilingarov, vice-speaker of the Russian
State Duma, the initiative has already been supported by more
than 60 other countries. |

French traveler and the scientist Jean-Louis Etienne has come
to Russia with a formal visit to Moscow. |

During this
trip the work progress of the Au-30 airship building was checked
up, and also negotiations were carried out over the route of
Russian-French expedition being prepared. Jean-Louis Etienne
has looked over the workshops of AVGUR-ROSAEROSYSTEMS Company
and visited the airship base Kirzhach-D owned by AeroScan LTD,
where flying tests for the same Au-30 airship are taking place
at the moment.
Just another
stage of the arctic airship creation process is completed
successfully. |

AU-12M
airship Type Certification is completed. |

In
November 28, 2006 for the first time in the history of Russian
aeronautics, manned airship have been Type certified.
AU-12M
is two seat contemporary airship equipped by unique for such
size thrust vectoring system, allows both vertical and short
running take off and landing and advanced aircraft
instrumentation giving this blimp high level of
controllability in flight. The airship can be utilized for
patrolling, surveillance, shooting, advertisement and many
other purposes. It particularly suitable for pilot training.
At
the meantime two of
AU-12M are operating in Moscow for traffic
control, third one is sold to Thailand. The design of this
airship also was basic for the French airship Voliris-900.
Type Certificate holder “AUGUR” Aeronautical Center”, well
known under international trademark RosAeroSystems is the only
Russian Company producing airships continues collaboration
with aviation authorities by initiating of Type certification
of the ten seat airship
